Only two days before while at New Brighton SP and thinking about our trip north we thought lets try and get a night at Half Moon Bay SP. Have to love the internet and the ability to make a reservation in a campground. Little did I know that of the only two sites available I picked one of the best ones in the park! We had to wait to get into our site this time too (previous campers had mechanical troubles with their popout not closing) but the vacating campers presented us with a bottle of wine for our patience!
The campground is very open and not one for privacy. Our site was a premium site as it had a small beach view and direct access. It was foggy when we arrived and really didn’t lift until just before sunset.
There is a biking trail off the park which we took and it sounded like one could go south pretty far. We rode south and then came back via neighborhood roads. The northern end of the bike trail, just past the campground, is closed due to a broken bridge.
