Our first ever time camping with close friends! AND we had so much fun!!! From the first time we saw this little campground only miles from home and on Lewiston Lake we knew a stay here was in the future. Since one of my best friends and her husband had just purchased a trailer I thought this would be the perfect spot to try out camping with friends. There are only five sites in this campground and it’s first come first serve. Since it was the end of September and a bit of a drive off Highway 299 we thought we would have a chance to get two sites here mid afternoon. If Cooper Gulch was full we could go up to Ackerman Campground and get a spot easily. We lucked out and our friends got the best two sites in the campground before two other campers arrived. They even brought a two person kayak that we tried out which was great as we are looking at a possible purchase.
The weather on Friday and Saturday was perfect, Sunday the wind came up and the air temperature dropped.
We had a great view from the lounge and the bedroom of Lewiston Lake, with our friends just above us.
Friday night John BBQ-ed chicken at our campsite while Kim and I waited to relax with Gene.
Saturday morning we hiked to Mary Smith Campground on the Baker Gulch Trail – 4 miles round trip, super easy but lots of Poison Oak.
Love the morning view from the bedroom.
Cute trailers on the road across from the Pine Cove Boat Ramp.
Dinner Saturday night was Gene’s famous kebabs! There was plenty and the fire was perfect…along with the company!
Kim and Gene enjoying the evening on Lewiston Lake.
