Sold our northern California home of 27 years and became nomads, but only for the next couple of months, so we headed south to the Sonoma Coast to spend time. We arrived at Lawsons Landing Campground in the Dillion Beach area and found the campground pretty empty, and spectacular weather for a January 24th. After a hectic move we settled in for three days, relaxing. We did drive out to have lunch at Nick’s Cove.

Heading up the coast we managed to get two nights at Doran Park on Bodega Bay. Again the weather was sunny but the wind here made it quite chilly in the afternoon. We hiked the Bodega Head Trail early in the morning and relaxed the rest of our time there.

Heading east to the Napa Valley the next day for a stay at Bothe Napa SP. We only lasted one night at the park as the neighbor we had was a bit unsettling for our taste. Our batteries also needed some refreshing, so it was another reason to move on. We headed to Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa for two nights, also took in the neighboring areas of Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga. Finally, we settled into our friend’s property in Yountville for the next month.
