Exploring Markleeville and Grover Hot Springs

Since we knew we couldn’t stay here we chose to spend the day exploring the area of Markleeville and then go into Grover Hot Springs. Alpine County is the home of the California Death Ride -129 miles and 15,000+ feet of bike climbing, which happens in July.  We visited the museum and then headed to Grover Hot Springs.  After touring the campground we decided we liked where we were. There were only a few sites that we liked. The park is beautiful and has the pools, a creek and lots of hiking.
