Driving from Half Moon Bay SP on Highway 1 was easy. We left around 10:00 and got gas in Carmel and easily made it through San Francisco. Driving in the city was adventurous because we never thought we would own an Airstream, let alone drive over the Golden Gate. Unfortunately it was super foggy – so my picture reflects that.
Neighbors are near and there was even another Airstream in the park, but we never connected…such is the atmosphere of these RV city parks?
So… you walk out of the parking/camping area (200 feet) and this is what you see. It’s the Corte Madera Marsh Ecological Reserve, with a view of San Quentin also. I was impressed.
Stayed in Marin RV Park which was perfect for this end of our trip. The reason we are here is to help our daughter and her family move to a new place. And it is perfectly located to San Francisco via the Larkspur Ferry, to numerous biking trails, and to the beautiful Pt. Reyes area.
More to come about this place as our need to see family will only escalate since a majority of them are in the Bay Area for some reason..and did I also mention the Corte Madera Shopping Area is only 5 minutes away and we love the Giants! I wish the Giants would have an Airstream Night since third base coach Tim Flannery has one!!!
These are the old railroad tracks and they lead to nowhere – but you can see the homeowners of the houseboats in this area wheeling their goods to their homes (don’t really know how else to say it).
