Camp Comfort – Ojai

Camp Comfort is a Ventura County.

When our relatives chose to vacation in Ojai we thought it would be a great place to play too. I found Camp Comfort and using the website Campsite Photos chose the site #11. The park is very small, has full hookups, a shower building, a play area in the day use area, a resident camp host and the best part- 5 minutes from Ojai.

This park was awesome during the weeknights, empty and quiet. The park host closes the gate at 8pm and the quiet hours begin at 10pm. On the weekend however it can get a bit noisy due to it being a family reunion area and an easy place to get to from the city of Ventura. And the sites are poorly designed for personal space.

We spent most of our time in Ojai. One of those days we did venture to the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley about 40 minutes away (leave early both ways to avoid traffic). It was impressive and one could easily spend the entire day there. The Air Force One Pavillion was quite breathtaking to come upon.

We also visited downtown Ojai shops and restaurants. Two places that stick out – Rains Department Store established in 1914, and the Los Caporales Restaurant and Tequila Bar. And we want to return – need to spend some time exploring further.

A great place to kick back on the weekdays.

The Reagan Library entrance.

The actual Air Force One aircraft, which flew seven U.S. presidents.

Ojai Farmers Market – flowers all over.

The Ojai Farmers Market is a fun place to visit and the products presented are typical of most.
