Onward to Gardnerville

Such a cold night (June 11)- didn’t pack right – woke up and decided to try out the furnace- nothing like middle of the night (need to buy blankets) to learn something new. Such a nice thing -the furnace, allowed us to sleep until 8 am! And having a fridge is also fun for cold orange juice and cream for coffee. We have found only one item that is giving us issues and that’s the front burner which needs to be lit manually.

Nice weather to sit outside and enjoy the morning -a bit windy but no problem with the air temp. No one around and although we had to unhook not many folks driving through… a garbage truck did come through before sunrise. I got to experience the shower (will miss my hairdryer) and the toilet …fun times! I must say its nice being self contained!

Hat Creek Campground – short site but we worked it out!

Pat and Pam from Chico – so cute!

We packed up and walked around the campground. Met up with two ladies who had caught numerous rainbow trout on Hat Creek. They told us stocking had just happened. We also met Pam and Pat and got a peak at their 1968 16 ft Land Yacht. We talked at length about the Airstream life and how fun it is. They are from Chico and have had renovations done by the guy in Grass Valley (whose name I forget).

Made it to Susanville waving to at least three Airstreams along the way. After visiting Walmart and eating lunch we headed to Gardnerville to stay on the street at my sister’s home and thankfully didn’t have to hookup.  We did run out of water (after a almost whole day use) so it appears we need to be a bit more water savvy.
