New adventure – a rally!

This is going to be a fun adventure! It was our last big trip – 4 days – before I had to go back to work.  I had looked on Air Forums and the internet to find an Airstream event that we could attend – and this was it. My schedule is so tight that most Airstream rallies are unattainable right now. We arrived at Skyline Wilderness Park early – coming from Brannan Island State Park – our go to spot for staging. It’s August and hook-ups were available – we opted for just water and power. It was fun to arrive and see soooo many Airstreams of such diversity. And icing on the cake is family is only an hour away!

Napa Valley Good Times – Northern CA WBCCI

For two nights we had family from Santa Rosa come for dinner!

Lake Marie – 4 mile round trip hike from the Skyline Wilderness Park campground.

Cline Cellars Winery Tasting and Picnic

Awesome group of Airstreams and their owners!

Tour of diRosa on the Sonoma Hwy.

At the diRosa Gallery there was this car that would make a fine Airstream ride!

Kashaya and her portable pizza oven came and made scrumptious round things!

We had an incredible moon show!

So this rig was way cool – an Australian guy who owns it. He stays here and purchases Airstreams to send home to be fixed up to sell. He was pretty nice – I would buy from him!

We enjoyed the conversations and information we gathered from all these Airstreamers. There was quite the gamut of experience from the couple who inherited their Airstream from their parents, to the couple who had been to Burning Man, to the couple with the new trailer going to Burning Man, to the couple who led caravans, to the single lady who was an artist, to the couple on the first part of their travels to see the US!We both had an enjoyable time and meeting everyone was a highlight. It is a crazy world we live in however being able to take a camping trip has always been a humbling experience for me. Now I/we get to have a level of comfort that makes me/us soooo happy allowing us to be gone longer and enjoy each others company on a level we haven’t had in a long time. I think a lot of travelers who have this kind of equipment feel the same way.
