It was a good feeling to have the Cloud ready to go just incase we needed to get out quickly. I had it all ready since we were going to go over Labor Day to Lassen NP. Within an hour 150 acres burned and when it was all finished 580 had burned. What saved us was the prescribed burns held the previous fall.
Sunday morning was a usual day but by 3:00 when the winds pick up and someone loses their boat off their trailer – this can happen!
The Cloud was packed! Luck was with us and the fire skirted us – but just barely. We chose not to evacuate and keep our house wetted down.
